General History

Roughly after the fall of the Great Ardevan Empire and after the formation of the new factions in Ardevan, many adventurers and opportunists saw that this new era that's coming is full of possibilities, possibilities that can bring gold and fame upon them. These people cared for nothing but riches and glory, things that they would do pretty much anything to achieve, the split of the old empire into different warring factions would be an perfect utopia for them. They would gather in groups, moving from town to town, tavern to tavern to find a fellow that's willing to pay them to fight for him, in exchange for gold.

Many lords and kings from the factions of Ardevan employ a big number of these ruthless people to do their bidding, as they're the lot to do anything for the right price. One of the members of the Freelancers alongside a group of others gathered in an area, claiming it in order to construct a stronghold of theirs, where any adventurer, lord and king can visit to hire mercenaries.

The Freelancers are a multi-culturally organisation of mercenaries and adventurers, they will fight for the player or others for a hefty amount of gold. Although, they might be more expensive compared to normal levies and recruits, they can be used to bulk an army quickly with versatile and good units. Freelancers can sometimes be a quick solution during dire times or when you need to quickly gather an army, though long-term use of recruits can be fruitful compared to the short-term use of Freelancers. It is advised to hire these only if you're in a good economic condition and are willing to pay for them.
